Egypt is a transcontinental country on both sides of the northeast corner of Africa and the southwest corner of Asia by way of a land bridge formed by the Sinai Peninsula. Its territory covers 1,010,000 sq km (390,000 sq mi) most of which lies within North Africa and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, and the Red Sea to the east and south. Egypt’s population is over 84 million, leaving it the 15th most populated country in the world.

With one of the longest histories of any modern state, its monuments were constructed by its ancient civilization, which was one of the most advanced of its time. Its cultural legacy, along with the Red Sea Riviera, has made tourism a fundamental part of the economy.

Egypt’s most entrancing attractions include: The Pyramids, The Sphinx, The Necropolis; all found in the Giza district. The Egyptian Museum, The Library of Alexandria, Mount Sinai, Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, The Citadel, and many more.
